Georgia Voting Law

BY LYNNE INOUYE AND SYDNEY WESCHCKE

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF IN TRAINING AND STAFF WRITER

Absentee and mail voting is one of the top issues when it comes to election-related bills, a Wall Street Journal analysis shows, after looking at nearly 1,800 examples. It remains a frequent debate in the realm of politics, with Democrats supporting a shift to ballots cast by mail, and Republicans, like Donald Trump and other high-ranking ones, speaking strongly against it. This divide also has influenced voter trends, with mail-in votes tending to be largely Democratic. For example, in the 2020 elections, two-thirds of people who voted by mail voted for President Biden, according to AP VoteCast. Generally speaking, this fits with the trend that Democrats lean towards making voting easier, while Republicans aim to place more restrictions.

In-Person and Back Again: MSA’s Handling of the Pandemic’s Tail End

BY SAM WURDEMANN

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

A week ago today, I received my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19. I am one of hundreds of millions of Americans who has been administered at least one dose, and I, like many others, have begun to feel optimistic again. As we move forward and not back for the first time in over a year, one may begin to think that we have made it to the light of the end of the tunnel. But, as we have witnessed at MSA, we’re not quite there yet.

BY BELLA TRINKO & ALAINA INOUYE

Following a mass shooting in Indianapolis that killed eight people, Biden signed into action new executive orders on gun control. These orders included actions such as calling for a review of ghost guns, making it easier for states to implement red flag laws, and providing funds for community intervention programs. Biden also appointed David Chipman to be the head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

Vaccines Being Administered

BY XUYING LEE

STAFF WRITER

With all of the downhearted news and current events that have been going on, one positive is the administration of vaccines against Covid-19. Since being in office, President Biden has set a goal of over 100 million vaccines to be administered within his first 100 days as president, in which his goal was met on the 59th day of his administration. His new goal is to have administered 200 million vaccines within his first 100 days in office. As of right now, there are three main types of vaccines that are being administered. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the Pfizer, and Moderna. If you are to receive the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, you will need two doses for the vaccine to work more effectively. With the new discovery of these vaccines, we hope for the spread of Covid- 19 to slowly decrease and become a thing of the past. For more information on doses and types of vaccines, go to cdc.gov.

BY LOGAN SCHLOSSER

STAFF WRITER

Hello to all of you lovely people at home! Today is a very special installment of this series, as I am writing this a lot more tired than usual. So I apologize in advance to you all, also my editors, like they have to fix all of my sleep-deprived grammar. Anyways, today I have a treat of a game for you today. Now the review might be a bit shorter than usual, as the game is focused mainly on it’s comedy and I really don’t want to ruin the possible experience for you all. Anyways, I don’t wanna stall you all for much longer than I already do. So the game that I will be talking about today is Dude Stop.
