During the next three years, twenty-two new series are set to be released exclusively on Disney Plus. Ten of these series will be Star Wars related, and twelve will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Disney announced this on their Instagram and Twitter on December 10, and other posts included previews of the content. All this has many fans excited, so today we’ll look at what interesting content is being released.

First off, one of the most notable new instalments in the Star Wars universe is “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” a tv series starring Ewan McGregor, who played the character in the prequels. This is going into production around March 2021. Additionally, “Ahsoka” is coming out, with Rosario Dawson, the same actress who played Ahsoka in “The Mandalorian.” These two shows, along with “The Rangers of the New Republic,” are set to intersect in a long-awaited crossover.

As for the MCU, of the twelve planned series, eight had already been announced prior to December 10. Among these were the show “WandaVision,” which premiered January 15, a new Dr. Strange movie, and a still-unnamed Spider-Man movie. Furthermore, Disney announced the TV series “Loki,” set to debut in May, and the movie “Black Widow,” with Scarlett Johansson. Other content includes “Hawkeye,” “Ms. Marvel,” and much more.

This is just a fraction of the content Disney is producing in the coming years. Stay tuned to Disney’s social media for any other announcements on their future projects, and how things are progressing. Thanks for reading!
