“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead. Hi MSA! I got the chance to interview the new middle school Administrator, Dr. Olsen. She is awesome and very fun to talk to!

Dr. Olsen was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is living in the Twin Cities area. She also lived in Toussan, Arizona for a little bit! She has two sisters and a brother, and she is the second oldest.  She went to Augustana College/University for her under-graduate degree and the University of Minnesota for graduate school. Her greatest achievements are a lamp she made in 8th grade and her PhD!

Additionally, Dr. Olsen has taught at many different schools that include: Hoover Elementary in Coon Rapids and Valley Crossing Elementary School in Woodbury. Her favorite thing about MSA is being able to interact with students! So if you see Dr. Olsen in the halls, make sure to say hello and introduce yourself! Her duties at MSA include supporting students by troubleshooting their problems and giving advice. She also works with teachers by leading a lot of committees that help decide new curriculum for certain classes! She even helps with fire drills and lunch. Her favorite thing about being a principal is the surprise factor, too.

Now for the rapid facts! Her favorite part of the day is the morning, and her favorite book is “Where the Red Fern Grows.” The strangest thing she has ever eaten is frog legs! Her greatest role model is Desmond Tutu, and she even briefly got to meet him. Lastly, the MOST important fact ever is, she likes chocolate of any kind! Thanks for reading!
