Sephora Kids

Perhaps you’ve seen videos online of people making jokes about Sephora kids. Sephora workers are sharing their experiences interacting with the Sephora kids. Often, they are expressing a distaste for the actions of these young kids. The term “Sephora kids” refers to preteens and kids who are obsessed with skincare and other beauty products from Sephora. These kids are often young and have no practical use for the products they are purchasing. The products they buy range from moisturizer to retinol.

While skincare products tend to be harmless to adults, the intended, the same can not be said for kids. Dermatologists online are voicing concern for the products these kids are using. Dr. Brooke Jeffy warns that if these products are used inappropriately they are harmful to those with young skin. He says that those who have youthful skin should avoid any products that contain retinol, peptides, vitamin C serums, or exfoliating acids. Using these products at a young age can cause damage to the skin in the future. Not to mention that most of these children don’t experience the skin problems that the products intend to treat.

Before we all go pointing a finger trying to find someone to blame for the Sephora kids, think about who is really responsible. Some people are trying to blame the Sephora employees for selling the products to kids. However, these young kids most likely aren’t purchasing the items given that they can’t even drive to a Sephora. Parents are the most likely culprits who are providing the funding without knowing that these products can be harmful to kids. The children who want these products don’t understand why they don’t need them. They are influenced by what they see on social media and, therefore, want these products. No one person is to blame for Sephora kids. However, parents should become better informed about the products they are buying for their children
