Tips for Sixth Graders

This year, I am in seventh grade, and I am doing really well in school. I understand if all the sixth graders here are scared and feel like they want to cry. I was like this too and it was EXTRA hard for me as I graduated from a Montessori school. As this is a science school, I had mainly failing grades by the end of the semester! But now that I know the lay of the land, I am a confident, happy, and smart young woman. If you want to know how to push through as I did, keep on reading. If you are pretty confident, this will still be there when you need it.

1: The first thing to do in grade 6 is to get to know your teachers.

I have been at MSA for two years, and all the teachers so far have been really nice! If you have any concerns you need to talk about, don’t be afraid to ask! I have ADHD and perfectionism, and the main reason I got this far is because the teachers were there to help me when I needed it.

2: Never be afraid to ask for help.

Even though I am doing better in class, it is still hard to ask for help. I believe not asking is what led to me having bad grades. I am working to change that. Don’t be like me and not ask for help when you need it. Trust me, it won’t work out well.

3.  Just be yourself.

This is the key to a good time here. A lot of people share the same traits as you.

Anyway, I hope you have a great time here at MSA. Goodbye!
