Chapstick

Have you ever wondered why your lips are so excruciatingly dry? Well, let me inform you why. A lot of chapstick companies purposefully will make their chapstick to dry out the buyers lips. The whole point of buying chapstick is to fix the dryness and the dryer your lips are the more chapstick you’re going to buy. The companies are well aware, and of course they take advantage of this by manufacturing the chapstick to stop your body from being able to heal itself which can then lead to having health issues. The ingredients that are found in the chapstick actually pull out the moisture in your lips and sometimes leaves them dryer than what they started as.

There are still things that can help you with dry lips besides chapstick. Firstly, when looking at a chapstick to buy, check the ingredients list and see if it either has beeswax or shea butter; these are both known for their moisturizing properties and are often used in skin care. Also, when buying higher end chapsticks you have a much better chance of actually helping your lips; an example is Burt’s Bees. The number one ingredient in the chapstick is beeswax, and it is composed of all natural ingredients that have been proven to help with dryness. Finally, there are other ways altogether to stop your lips from even drying out, for example: drinking enough water, covering your lips if you go out into colder temps, and not picking, biting, or licking your lips. Overall, be aware of what you are putting on your body and don’t waste your time or money.
